BEGINNING EXPERIENCE WEEKEND

This weekend is scheduled for November 14-16, 2008 at St. Anthony Retreat Center. Beginning Experience is a weekend that reaches out in Christ-like compassion to the widowed, separated and divorced and their families. The weekend program provides comfort and support, the opportunity to evaluate one’s self and the loss, and an opportunity for participants to find healing and the freedom to love themselves, others and God by working through their grief. Beginning Experience is offered by specially trained men & women who are themselves widowed, separated or divorced, but further along in our grieving process. The team also includes priests, clergy and others who are qualified and committed to this ministry. For more information contact St. Anthony Retreat Center at 559-561-4595.

“MARY’S REST” PARISH PARK

“Mary’s Rest” is the name planned for the new park to be built on the dirt lot behind the Church in Bishop. Plans for this park have been forming for many years and now work has begun with a fence being installed around the air-conditioning units on the north side of the parish hall. When completed, “Mary’s Rest” will offer a large covered patio area as an annex to the north side of the parish hall, picnic areas along the perimeter, a barbeque area, grassy areas and a few R. V. hook-ups. While financing was made available to get the project going, we are in need of further donations to bring the job to completion. As a result, we accepting either donations of specific building supplies or monetary donations made thru the parish office. For more information call 872-7231.
