Rules of Our Lady of Perpetual Help

CCD Program

1. Some students may expect to take an entry level exam for the class they want to enter.

2. Students are required to attend Sunday Mass and Holy Days of Obligation.

3. All students in the classes for First Communion and Confirmation must complete two years of preparation and must be baptized. If the student was baptized outside OLPH, please bring the certificate of baptism to the office for our files.  For Confirmation, students must be at least 16 years of age at the time they receive confirmation regardless of grade in school.  The sponsor of the Confirmation candidate must be a practicing Catholic.

4. OLPH provides religious education at the request of parents who demonstrate commitment to the religious education of their children.  Class attendance is mandatory and recorded. Parents must notify the OLPH office of any student absences. Parents will be notified of repeated absences and are responsible for their children's lack of attendance.

5. OLPH reserves the right to suspend any student with excessive absences, or those who are harmful and disrespectful to teachers and others, or who refuse to participate in class.

6. Parents will be expected to pick up your harmful and disrespectful child immediately as the office secretary calls you.

7. Students have plenty of time to walk to CCD, so they should not be late.  Late students must go to the CCD office and explain why they have not arrived on time.  Going to buy snacks is not a valid excuse.  Excessive tardiness will be reported to parents.

8. The CCD program does not serve snacks to students.  If your child gets hungry, please pack a snack and have him/her eat it before class.

9. Parents, please have your students walk to CCD on Home St.  Advise your students that it is not recommended to use the field behind the parish office.
